We are pleased to welcome you to the "I International Congress: Biodiversity and Conservation of the Tropical Andes and the Amazon Rainforest", organized by the Peruvian NGO, Centro de Ecología y Biodiversidad (CEBIO). The conference will be held in Lima, Peru, from the 15th-18th October 2015.
For this congress, we have scheduled a special three-day Parallel Symposium in order to review the research from different organizations in the Andes and the Amazon. We are pleased to have plenary speakers who will give global presentations about biodiversity and conservation.
CEBIO kindly invites all professionals in the fields of biodiversity, conservation, biogeography, systematics, climate change, tropical ecology, etc., to debate the current state of the biodiversity and conservation in the Andes and the Amazon. The aim of this conference is to facilitate the spread of knowledge of biodiversity in Peru and other regions with the participation of national and foreign researchers. We also offer an opportunity for researchers to present the results of studies conducted in the different ecosystems present in Peru and South America, identifying information gaps, potentials in conservation, and implementation of national and regional projects. We aim to create a space for the exchange of experiences and ideas that will enable the development of new research projects, inter-agency partnerships and access to opportunities for academic development.
The possibilities for participating, both in English or Spanish (simultaneous translation), are extensive for all fields related to themes presented in this congress. The conference will include: plenary sessions, symposia (15 symposia with the participation of more than 100 speakers), oral and posters presentations. All sessions will include the participation of more than 250 speakers from Peru and different countries of the world.
We encourage you to submit late abstracts related to the topics of the congress before midnight on June 15, 2015. Be aware that late abstracts may only be presented as posters.
We are certain that Lima will be a magnificent location to host this meeting, and we are looking forward to welcoming you to Lima in October 2015.
